Airtel Xstream Smart TV box settings for better speed

Airtel Xstream Smart TV lets user watch TV and OTT contents. If the default setting is causing the system to slow down, then user have option to do some custom settings to speed up the system performance.

The Android settings.

1. System Upgrade

One of the first thing user must do is upgrade the Android OS to the latest version. Doing it will provide the user with better features and stable system.

  • Under the Settings menu select the Device Preferences.
  • Select the option About.
  • Select the choice System Update.
  • Select the option Check for updates.

2. Display Resolution

Selecting a lower display resolution will minimize the CPU and GPU usage which will speed up the overall response of the system.

To set the Display resolution, do the followings:

  • Select Display in the Device preferences.
  • Select Resolution.
  • Select the option 1080p30.

3. Disable apps that are not used

It is recommended to disable apps that are not used by the user.

  • Select the option Apps in the Settings menu.
  • Select See all apps.
  • Select the app that you want to disable .
  • Select the option Disable.
  • Select the option OK to disable the app.

4. Enable Auto Update Apps

Updating the apps installed in the system is necessary to get latest features.

  • Open Google Play app.
  • Select Settings.
  • Set the option Auto-update apps at any time in the Auto-update apps settings.

5. Usage and Diagnostics

It is recommended to turn Off the feature Usage and Diagnostics.

6. Use Ethernet connection

It is recommended to use Ethernet connection instead of Wi-Fi to connect the Set top box to the Internet.

Ethernet is faster, stable and consumes less CPU.
